BINGHAMTON REGIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

This project will help residents understand how the energy systems in their homes work, provide guidance to navigate energy improvement programs, advocate for themselves with the utility, and provide an understanding of clean energy career opportunities.

New York Power Authority (NYPA)

As part of NYPA's funding of its workforce training incentives is the renewable energy field, NYPA is supporting the Bronx Economic Development Corporation. The funds will support a pilot program aimed to equip Bronx-based college students with the exposure and training necessary to take advantage of opportunities in the clean energy industry.

California Energy Commission

The Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) program funds research, development, and demonstration of clean energy technologies to benefit electricity ratepayers and advance California's energy goals.

Public Utilities Commission

Proposals will undergo a competitive selection process. Please refer to the CEA-LAT Grant Guidelines and application forms, located on the right sidebar under Applicant Resources, to create a complete and competitive application. NYSERDA

Provides funding for creation and/or expand the capacity of direct entry pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs as a pathway to high-quality, family supporting jobs.

NYSERDA

Provides funding for employers to train workers for good-paying jobs created across the state in the clean energy economy, and NYSERDA has prioritized these workforce training investments to serve historically Disadvantaged Communities and Priority Populations including individuals that are low income, veterans, disabled, formerly incarcerated, and residents of environmental justice communities.

The focus of applicant projects will vary based on the specific federal funding opportunity. Please check the Section II.A., for a list of currently eligible funding opportunities.

Industrial Decarbonization and Improvements to Grid Operations Program (INDIGO) This program was created under Assembly Bill (AB) 209 (The Energy and Climate Change budget bill, Chapter 251, Section 12, Chapter 7.6, Article 2, enacted in September 2022).[1] The purpose is to implement projects at industrial facilities that can provide significant benefits to the electrical grid, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, achieve the state’s clean energy goals, and exceed compliance requirements. Eligible industrial facilities include, but are not limited to, a facility involved with manufacturing, production, and processing of materials and related support facilities. For the purposes of this solicitation, food and beverage production and processing facilities are excluded.   Food Production Investment Program (FPIP) Originally funded from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), AB 209 codified the FPIP program.[2] The purpose is to implement projects at food production facilities that can support electrical grid reliability and reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases. Eligible food production facilities include, but are not limited to, facilities that are directly involved in food production and processing and related support facilities.      

Department of Energy

DOE SBIR Phase I funds innovative energy technology R&D including clean energy, grid modernization, nuclear, and advanced manufacturing. Post-reauthorization solicitations expected Spring 2026.

Empire State Development

The Excelsior Jobs Program provides job creation and investment tax credits to businesses in strategic industries including biotechnology, clean energy, financial services, and software/IT.

Empire State Development

The Employee Training Incentive Program provides refundable tax credits to New York State employers for procuring skills training that upgrades, retrains or improves the productivity of their employees. Businesses can also receive tax credits for approved internship programs that provide training in advanced technology, life sciences, software development, or clean energy. The ETIP will make $5 million in tax credits available to businesses annually, with up to $1 million in credits available for approved internship programs.

CA Energy Commission

The purpose of this solicitation is to provide cost share funding to applicants that apply for and receive one of the following:  An award under an eligible federal Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) and meet the requirements of this solicitation, or  Follow-on funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to continue research from a previously awarded federal grant that also received Energy Commission federal cost share funding under PON-14-308, GFO-18-902, or this GFO and the proposed project meets the requirements of this solicitation.   Continuously Updated Eligible Cost Share Opportunities Before applying, applicants are encouraged to check Eligibility Requirements in Section II of this solicitation. As new eligible cost share opportunities are released, the Energy Commission will revise this document with corresponding information on how to apply for cost share for that funding opportunity. Information on currently eligible funding opportunities can be found in the Eligible Federal Funding Opportunities section of the Eligibility Requirements (Section II.A.). The Energy Commission will provide cost share only to applicants that are applying for a federal funding opportunity or follow-on funding as described above. If the applicant has already received a federal award or follow-on funding and is seeking retroactive cost share, that application will not be eligible for CEC cost share funds under this solicitation.

Hawaii State Energy Office

The Hawaii State Energy Office funds projects advancing the state's goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045, supporting solar, wind, energy storage, energy efficiency, and clean transportation initiatives.

New York Power Authority (NYPA)

As part of NYPA's funding of its workforce training incentives is the renewable energy field, NYPA is supporting IWA?s Clean Energy Manufacturing program. Participants will be trained in composite manufacturing, drone technologies, and offshore wind. Participants will also receive career readiness and professional development training. .

Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy

EGLE provides grants to municipalities, nonprofits, and community organizations for environmental cleanup, water quality improvement, clean energy, recycling, and Great Lakes protection projects throughout Michigan.

NC Department of Environmental Quality

NCDEQ provides grants to municipalities, nonprofits, and community organizations for water quality improvement, clean energy projects, environmental restoration, and resilience planning throughout North Carolina.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection

NJDEP awards grants to municipalities, nonprofits, and organizations for environmental restoration, open space preservation, stormwater management, recycling programs, and clean energy projects across New Jersey.

NY Green Bank

NY Green Bank is a state-sponsored specialized finance entity that works with the private sector to accelerate clean energy deployment across New York, providing debt and equity financing for clean energy projects.

New York Power Authority (NYPA)

As part of NYPA's funding of its workforce training initiatives in the renewable energy field, NYPA is supporting the NYC District Council of Carpenters Training Center This funding focuses on training of incumbent workers focusing on contruction skills needed for clean energy work. Over the two-year program, apprentices will receive advanced apprenticeship training including the specific skills necessary for work on energy efficiency and clean technology projects and building performance.

New York Power Authority (NYPA)

As part of NYPA's funding of its workforce training incentives is the renewable energy field, NYPA is supporting the NYS Labor Management Committee. The funds will support an expansion of clean energy training currently offered at the Joint Apprenticeship Training Centers across the state.

The purpose of the OJET GCEW Request for Proposals (RFP) is to provide funding to eligible organizations to expand or create statewide clean energy training or pre-apprenticeship programs and provide wraparound services to participants in these programs. Eligible organizations may utilize the services of a training provider to deliver the programs.

Funding will be provided to Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs) for the up-skilling or re-skilling of workers transitioning from fossil fuel to clean energy positions; the up-skilling or re-skilling of residential workers in weatherization, building performance, and retrofitting, including fees required for industry-recognized credentials; and wraparound services during training, including but not limited to, childcare, transportation, housing, food, mental health services, and substance use treatment or services.

The course is designed as a two-course progression?an introductory (30-hour) HVAC Systems 101- level course, followed by a more advanced (30-hour) Heat Pump Systems 201-level course.
